What You Need To Know

Arrival

To ensure your wedding day runs smoothly and remains completely stress-free, we kindly recommend that you arrive at least 3 working days before the ceremony. We also suggest departing no earlier than 3 working days after the wedding, so you have enough time to sign and collect your official marriage certificate.

Secure your Date

Once you’ve chosen your wedding date, it’s important to reserve it properly. A 200 euros deposit will secure your date, and this amount will be deducted from your total payment. The remaining balance does not need to be settled until 4 weeks before your wedding day.

*Please note that without this deposit, your preferred date may be released.

You can contact us to discuss your options before committing to the date.

Once the date is confirmed, we will send you a contract of agreement and the commitment of both parties.

Required Documents

Marriage Document Requirements – Greece (Kos)

Below is a clearly organized guide outlining the required documents for couples planning a civil wedding in Greece. Requirements are separated for EU citizens, UK citizens, and non-EU nationals.

1. Required Documents for EU Citizens

  • Valid passport or EU national ID (must be valid during travel).
  • Full (long-form) birth certificate showing both parents’ names.
  • Certificate of No Impediment (or Single Status Certificate) issued within the last 3 months.
  • If divorced: Final divorce decree.
  • If widowed: Death certificate of late spouse and previous marriage certificate.
  • If name changed: Official name change or deed poll document.
  • All documents not originally in Greek must be Apostilled and officially translated into Greek.
  • Two adults as witnesses (with passport/ID).

2. Required Documents for UK Citizens (Post-Brexit)

  • Valid passport.
  • Full (long-form) birth certificate showing both parents’ names.
  • Certificate of No Impediment (CNI) issued by the UK registry office (must be no older than 3 months).
  • Proof of address may be required in some municipalities.
  • If divorced: Decree Absolute.
  • If widowed: Spouse’s Death Certificate and previous marriage certificate.
  • If name changed: Deed poll or legal name change document.
  • All UK documents must be Apostilled in the UK before translation.
  • Official Greek translation required (through certified translator).
  • Two adult witnesses (with passport/ID).

3. Required Documents for Non-EU Citizens

  • Valid passport.
  • Full (long-form) birth certificate showing both parents’ names.
  • Certificate of No Impediment / Single Status Certificate from home country.
  • Visa or proof of lawful stay if required based on nationality.
  • If divorced: Final divorce decree.
  • If widowed: Death certificate of late spouse and previous marriage certificate.
  • If name changed: Official name change document.
  • All foreign documents must be Apostilled if the country is part of the Hague Convention.
  • Countries not in the Hague Convention must legalize documents through the Greek Embassy.
  • Official Greek translation required for all documents.
  • Two adult witnesses (with passport/ID).
